Well fellas, I hate to ask this but I really do need some info. I bought my 03 DMax CC with a slight lift already installed. I have 40" from the ground to the fender lip in front and 42" in the rear. The inner fenders have already been trimmed, same as the bumper valance. I figure it is like a 2" leveling kit but it seems higher than 2". I want to upgrade my tires on the stock wheels. How Large of a tire can I go on the stock wheel? Can I get away with 305/70/16? The recommended min wheel width is like 8" Also is there one tire that works/looks better on stock wheels. I am looking at tires like MT Baja, Nitto Grappler etc. let me know what you think. Up here is Canada tires are damn pricey s I want to be sure. Priced BF Goodrich AT at Costco 305/75/16 at 277.00 a piece. Yikes!!!!! Thanks, Dana.........

i run 285/75/R16" Cooper Dicoverer's(215$ each) which is almost a 33" tire. they have an almost identical tred pattern as the Goodyear Wranglers and the Toyo Open Country M/T. i have a readylift leveling kit which i gained about 2.5' in the front with and i never rub. i think thats the biggest id would go without a lift kit.

I have Hankook Dynapro M/T's on my truck, the side tread makes it look TOUGH, and they dig great in South Arkansas mud!!

Next Upgrade I am looking to purchase is: Cab Mounted .50 Cal Fully Automatic Self Aiming/Firing Assault Weapon with ability to detect and remove Slow vehicles in the left lane and tailgaters.
Thats the look i am going for. I like lots of rubber.

I wouldnt go over a 285 on a stock tire as the 285 is even a little big. In order to get the proper wear you have to run lower PSI which increases side wall flex and a lot of shops wont do it due to liabilty. But our shop will.
If you do get an aftermarket rim make sure the backspacing is nearly Identical to the stockers. Which I have no idea what it is.
If you do that and trim it and crank the bars they will fit and may rub on the sway bar and cab panels periodically.
Id would stick with a 285 with a stock wheel especially! Even with a aftermarket wheel you'll get better mpg with the 285 plus less rub (if any).

I have cranked on my torsion bars, but still get a little rub while backing out of my driveway and turning the wheels sharp with the 285/75/16 Dynapros not much rub.. They get a little noisier the more they wear. My work uses them with studs on the back of their 2wd trucks during the winter for ice.

I am running 305/70/16 Kumho's on my stock rims with just a leveling kit. The problem i am having now is my stock rims are wrecked from running these over sized tires!!! Not Cool!! Because of the side pressure on the rim they have worn down the bead to what Fountain Tire refers to as "knifed". I am from Canada and to replace the stock rims at the dealership is $853.00 per rim!! What have i done. Now the tire shops will not install new rubber on my stock rims so i am forced to buy aftermarket ones. Dont let this happen to you!

Well I guess the plan has changed, I want to go wider so I need a wider rim. The h2 wheels arent too bad. Would I be ok with a 33x12.5x17? Check these out. I think I can get him down a couple hundred. DANA,,,,,,
