Aluminum Alloy & Powdercoating

Can you Powdercoat the factory chrome alum alloy wheels. Im talking bout the ones that come on the LT's. I am under the assumption that u cant, being that alum. isnt magnetic. But i could be wrong. Any powdercoaters out there that can ? I really like the stock look, but i want em black.

As far as I know you should not have a problem. It's not magnetism that attracts the powder, just a negative charge. The powder has a positive charge so it flows toward the part.

Ya you can powdercoat the factory aluminum wheels. But, not the chrome wheels. There is a member here that has a white truck and powder coated his wheels black then the angled part of the circles white. It actually looked pretty cool!

Yup you can like stated powdercoat aluminum wheels you dont need magnetic.. you need a static charge to hold the powder before being baked. If chrome you can have them sandblasted and go from there as well.
