i have been wanting to do this for some time and so here it goes.i have noticed we have alot of questions on what the biggest tire you can fit on the GM trucks.
3/4 and 1Ton GM SRW Trucks with 16" wheels=almost all 01-08 come with a LT245-75R16 tire which is way to small IMO along with most others.
here are a few choices
LT235-85R16=31.6-9.30R16
LT255-85R16=33.3-10.00R16
LT265-75R16=31.6-10.50R16
LT285-75R16=32.8-11.3R16
all these sizes will fit on your GM truck but 32" and taller will require trimming and the Torsion Bars raised.
3/4 and 1Ton GM SRW Trucks with 17" wheels=a few GM trucks come with a 17" wheel.
here are a few options in tire sizes.
LT265-70R17=31.9-10.70R17
LT285-70R17=32.8-11.50R17
those are the most popular sizes and again a 32" and taller requires Torsion Bars raised and trimming.
Duallys with 16" wheels..
LT215-85R16=30.5-8.50R16
LT235-85R16=31.6-9.30R16
LT255-85R16=33.3-10.00R16
anything wider then a 9" tire should be run with spacers but in our experience the 235-85R16 is fine without them.
Duallys with 17" wheels.
LT225-75R17=30.3-8.5R17
LT235-80R17=31.7-9.30R17
LT245-70R17=30.8-9.80R17
LT245-75R17=31.5-9.50R17
with the 17's any tire wider then 9" should be run with a spacer..
those are some of the more popular sizes that come to mind.hope that helps
also when looking at tires the bigger the tire the less fuel economy you will have.

i have a poster i got from rough country that tells me what tires fit under what vehicle? it will tell me what i have to do or what it will take fit whatever size tire you would want to fit under whatever truck. Throw a name of a truck,year and what size tire out and ill tell you what you would have to do. poster only goes up to 05 tho.

one of the big 4wd magazines publishes a chart like that in one issue every year. It lists vehicles by make, model and years, then what will fit under it stock, and with various lifts and mods... including fender trimming
