Wheel searching

Well I think I finally found a set i really like. Mickey Thompson Sidebiters. Im thinking of running Coopers or Mastercrafts. And sticking with the factory size of 16, but going wider of course. If anyone has a suggestion about a good tire for drag racing(not slicks),I was also thinking about going with something like Toyo Proxes.

If you want wheels that do not stick out stay with a pos offset. The MT wheel size chart says pos offset for Chevy trucks.

Ref our factory size wheels are: GM Mags 16x6.5x+28 offset

At 0 offset those 8.0 wide MT wheels stick out 53mm or 1.85" more than stock.

See my sig for the wheels I run in 18's - they stick out 1.38" more than stock. The tires do tend to rub when backing up fully cranked. (No lift).

I think the 0 would work - but there are plenty of other all black wheels out there.

Offset: The distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface of the wheel.

Here's a handy website to calculate wheel offset:

Wheel Offset Calculator

Here's a good tire calculator or two:

Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

Go with the bfg all terrains for everyday driving. you won't regret it. got 65,000 out of my last set. Don't know how they would be for drag racing though
