Wheel Bearings

I have an 03' Dmax and looking at replacing my front wheel bearings, and I was wondering if the front wheel bearings need to pressed in or is it a wheel hub bearing assembly

Ya there simple. If you have a air compressor you might want to pick up a cheap air chissel and a spade bit. Also, youll need a pretty big socket to take the hub off. 36MM or 38MM IIRC?

This place has the best deal on them IMO

Timken hub, 36mm socket and a good half inch torque wrench that goes to 250. Torque is 177 if I remember right. Easy enough job for sure.

You think that maybe when the shaft broke it could have also destroyed the w/b?

what happened was shaft broke goin down the road and kept binding up, so i had to remove the entire shaft, nut and all, knowing it wasnt good on the bearing i figured i could limp it the whole 4 miles home.. turns out the bearings dont last that long when the shaft and the nut arent there to hold it together..
shoulda known though, ended up doing it all on the side of the road..

I bet the hub got fouled up when the shaft broke. It went unnoticed until wheel fell off.
