Wheel Bearings

I have an 03' Dmax and looking at replacing my front wheel bearings, and I was wondering if the front wheel bearings need to pressed in or is it a wheel hub bearing assembly

it is an assembly.. no pressing, just 4 bolts and the abs wire.. its not a bad job at all..

Eddie "boost master"
03 lb7 ccsb 4x4- HD hood and grille- inch lower than stock 20" mkw's 305/50/20 cooper zeons
Now all glowshift gauges- traction bars- DHD stainless DP-4" MBRP- PPE BIV- AD II 200 lift pump- edge insight CTS- spectre CAI- 45% over injectors- LMM cp3 & FPR -EFI live dsp5 from tony burkhard and danville performance
suncoast stage 4 trans, goerend "ML style" triple disc billet converter
*Passin' 35psi on stock IHI with 290k on it* #edit#- freshly rebuilt with a drop in wetzel wheel and powder coated compressor housing with an RPI custom intake horn

Pretty easy change out.

2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLT ECLB, LBZ, LED tailights, black turn signals , black aftermarket headlights,265/75/16s uniroyal larados,Bilstein shocks,Banks 4inch exhaust, Nicktane adp, with a 3 micron Donaldson fuel filter, Schaffer's oil, pcv Re-route from alligator performance, Nicktane race plug, GM cab light,Banks 3 inch boost tube,And S&B air intake good to be driving a diesel again.

dont forget to put c.v axle in or damage could be caused..
this one is a long story, there was no forgetting the shaft..

Ya there simple. If you have a air compressor you might want to pick up a cheap air chissel and a spade bit. Also, youll need a pretty big socket to take the hub off. 36MM or 38MM IIRC?

Timken hub, 36mm socket and a good half inch torque wrench that goes to 250. Torque is 177 if I remember right. Easy enough job for sure.

You think that maybe when the shaft broke it could have also destroyed the w/b?

what happened was shaft broke goin down the road and kept binding up, so i had to remove the entire shaft, nut and all, knowing it wasnt good on the bearing i figured i could limp it the whole 4 miles home.. turns out the bearings dont last that long when the shaft and the nut arent there to hold it together..
shoulda known though, ended up doing it all on the side of the road..

I bet the hub got fouled up when the shaft broke. It went unnoticed until wheel fell off.
