What is the biggest tire i can put on a lly with keys turned up just got wheels today they are 18x9 with 18mm offset and 5.70 backspacing willing to do some trimming help please :help
In the process of putting 18x9's (0 offset) with 35's on CC LB7, with just torsion bars (until my cognito kit, and rear 1" blocks come in). Going to mount the tires tomorrow, and trim, and put on HD tie rod sleeves.
Im not sure how they translate over to 18 inch wheels. But these are with 16"
STOCK 265/75/17
Torsion bar adjustment 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 Roughly 33"
You may be able to squeeze 35's under it with trimming the inner fender, but I would hate to see something rubbing on the frame rail. That's just bad news. I'd stick with a 33
Found this when i was searching the same as you couple of weeks ago.
I think generally a positive offset will mean less trimming because the tire is more inside the tirewell, but I'm not sure if that 11.77 width with that backspacing will cause problems rubbing the control arms. The difference between your wheel, and the one I posted is nearly another inch closer to the control (deeper backspacing)
If you could find some used tires in the bigger size so if they dont fit you are not out a ton of money. Thats what I'm doing with the 35's didnt want to drop $1500 on tires and they not fit....
If they fit i will order some new ones when these wear out.
Minor fender liner trimming up front (1" width off front and back), and corner of front bumpers. Torsion bars cranked to bout 75%, with no rubbing even at full lock forward or reverse.
Will be installing cognito kit, and 1" blocks as soon as the Warden gives me another daddy day
33x12.50 with 0mm offset. Trimmed alot, but didn't touch the t-bars, it looks leveled in the picture, but it's not, it still has around 2-2 1/2" of rake to it. They don't even come close to rubbing. I pulled the liner back, trimmed about 1" off of the rear of the fender well, painted over the bare metal i had exposed, then put the liner back in place, zip tied it back, and used a heat gun to mold it to the new shape. Worked great, and looks stock.
