Tbars turned up all the way..is this bad?.PICS of wheels

Ok....I just installed my eagle 102's 16x8 with 3 5/8" backspacing, 285/75/16E Nitto Durra Grappler AT's. I had my bars turned up 4 turns and wouldnt clear at the tire shop. I tthey turned them up all the way which is 7 turns and I barely got the truck home without ripping of the front facia. MY truck is the GMC Sierra, so it will be different from the chevy guys.

I broke out the masking tape and my cut off wheel and went to town on the lower part of the facia and the drivers side inner fender well had to be trimmed.

Im wondering if I can leave them cranked all the way up?..this is my 1st IFS..On my dodge you can slap on 305's with no worries.
Im going to get an alignment today. Ive also looked at the cognito $469 kit and its in consideration at this point.

EDIT: I dont recommend this back spacing. A 4.5" backspacing is probly a better choice. Ive trimmed in a few places and now i have to remove my mudflaps due to the tires rubbing on the back of the inner fender well/mudflaps.

The following recommendations have been made later in this thread to make clearance for tires. Try this before you break out the cutoff wheel
1. Instead of trimming the front facia move your bumper up and/or forward...you should have some adjustment in it.
2. remove the black piece of plastic above the bumper then raise it to get you another 1.5" of clearance. (GMC's only?)
I have not tried the above since I already trimmed, but its worth a try.

Damn....this truck looks so HAWT with these wheels and tires!

In time riding with the T-bars turned all the way up will cause premature wear on them, and you could see not only a drop in the overall stance of the truck but also a rougher ride. I would suggest adding the leveling kit and lowering the T-bars a little.

Chevy vs. GMC shouldn't make any difference... there are alot of folks around here who run 285's easy with either one with the bars turned a few times, definitely not all the way... something doesn't add up there...

The difference between the Chevy's and the GMC is the trimming part. You have to trim more of the bumper cover/facia on the GMC since the lower part of the bumper/facia is different. The chevy you have the black airdam type thing and on the GMC you have the painted bumperfacia cover...thats all.

Im going to see if they can drop them down a few turns and still clear the tires. I should have pics up in a few hours.

Do you have any problems with rubbing on the back side of your fender wells? I have 285\75\16 on 8.5" rims with 4.5" back space. I ran these tires on my old 02 Chev dmax with no problems with rubbing, I had to trim the bumper but thats it. On my 03 GMC like I said earlier I get some rub in the back of my wheel wells. Oh and I have the T bars turned up 5 turns and the truck is running very close to level.

thank you sir....Yes I am getting some rubbing on the back of the fender wells. I have some mud flaps bolted there and thats what theyre rubbing on. Im going to remove them to see if that corrects it. If not Im pulling the cutoff wheel back out and trimming there as well.

Just got an alignement today. $100 bucks and she is doing great.

The wider wheels make the difference in rubbing. You can also take out the spacer between the bumper and grille so that you can lift the bumper up another inch and a half which will help.

I would also invest in some shock extenders or new shocks
