I have a 2009 GMC 3500 Dually that is about to leave the dealer to go to a "registered GM upfitter" for a leveling kit and larger tires (265/70R17), and possibly new wheels. They sent me to websites for Incubus Alloys and Akuza wheels to see possible wheels. Unless I am missing something, there are no dually wheels there. I have never heard of someone putting non-dually wheels on a dually; and do not plan to be the first (I am thinking of Alcoa Magnum series dually rims). They said something about new wheels in front and simulators in the back. Should I be concerned that they suggested something like that?
I am going to talk to them again tomorrow- hopefully I just misunderstood what they said
just dont get dually rockstars!! its possible to put non-dually wheels on, but you'll have to change the hubs. theres a few nice dually wheels out there.

have to have tires mounted on front wheels by hand cuz the tire mounting machine will gouge the hell out of them. ( happend 2 times to me) and after i got the wheels and tires on the truck and went to get it aligned, they couldnt mount the alignment sensors on the wheels cuz there isnt a lip around the wheel to hang the sensors. everyone with rockstar duallies ive talked to had to put there factory wheels back on to get it aligned. There just a pain in the ass. tell him to just powder coat the factory wheels. thats if he wants black. thats what im gunna do.

im not for sure, its the red machine. its the kind with the arm and the plastic end. its the most common. i went to a tire barn and a local tire shop. both machines scratched the wheel. one place paid for a new wheel, waited a week for the wheel, went to the next tire place, they ended up scratching the new wheel, wasnt a bad scratch like the first time so i said screw it. they ended up just putting the tire on by hand and i filled in the scratch with flat black paint.

you wouldnt believe how much of a pain in the ass it was. took me about 3 weeks to get them on the truck, and that after i bought everything. if he goes with 265/75 he'll need spacers and new lug nuts. thats another thing i had to wait on.
