Consumer Reports tire ratings

Just thought this may help some people when deciding on a tire choice. The choice is ultimately yours but, I vote to- BUY AMERICAN MADE from an AMERICAN COMPANY. American jobs depend on it. Remember, the job market is one big food chain so, the job you save could be your own. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now and post the test results.

Consumer Reports rated the All Terrain tires as follows.

1 Pirelli Scorpion ATR
2 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
3 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo
4 Michelin LTX A/T
5 Toyo Open Country
6 Kumho Road Venture AT KL78
7 Firestone Destination A/T
8 Nitto Terra Grappler
9 Cooper Discoverer ATR
10 Fuzion Xti
11 Kelly Safari Trex
12 Dayton Timberline AT II
13 Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor
14 General Grabber AT 2

Tires were rated for:
dry braking
wet braking
handling
hydroplaning
snow traction
ice braking
ride comfort
noise
rolling restiance
tread life

Too much typing to list all the details, but if you want specifics contact me and I can scan the results and e-mail them to you.

Good to see the General tire up there... it rates highly at TireRack too, and at much less the cost of a BFG A/T

the thing is that list is mostly accurate but you still need to take into consideration that your probaly gonna use your tires different then the people rating since most of the people rating drive smaller 1/2 series pickups,SUV's and other imported trucks vs a heavy diesel.just food for thought.
