Michelin LTX A/T2

I really like the Michelin LTX A/T2's and know that they wear very well and can get alot of miles out of them. But they are expensive. Should i just break down and get the Michelins or just get the Nitto Terra grapplers? My dad can get any tire at cost so i will be getting either one of the tires for alot less than retail.

I could prob get 2 sets of nittos for the same price of one set of michelins but i could prob run the michelins as long as two sets of nittos would last.

Tell me what yall think.

I'm in the same spot. I have Goodyear Silent Armors now with about 37k and they're getting close to ready to go. I've been looking at the same Michelins and having the same dilemma. Looking for something with less road noise than the GY but still has excellent snow traction. The discount guy blew some smoke in my a.. about them lasting 90k. I'm happy if I get 40k+ in a E range. I'll buy the Michelins if they're in the same price range as the GY. The GY kick butt in the snow and ice, but for some unexplainable reason am compelled to try a different one. Hope I don't hate myself later. Consider yourself extremely lucky you get them at cost. Most of us don't get that chance.

would love to find a tire with the height of the 285 but not as wide as the 285/75. I like the skinnier tires in deep snow.

the michelins will dry-rot before they are fully worn, due mostly in part to the chemical makeup of the rubber. I see the running consistantly 40 to 50k and stand up to gravel damage better and at 2/3 the price of the Mx. But the ltx at2 will ride and handle better.. and due to the amount of mileage you will get, the Total Cost of Ownership of the Mx will be cheaper. btw price mark-up on passenger, light truck, and medium truck in the Midwest market is only $20-$30 per tire... multiply that by %25, and figure how many tires you have to sell to make a living
