Yea YEa YEA I know. You get what you pay for!!

I needed some tires for the truck and I bought some bad ones. I bought four 235/85s from .....gulp.... a retreader in SoDak. Formerly called High-Tec they now are Treadwright. I ordered their all terrain tread with the ultra grip option. They were mounted on BFG all terrains. It took em a few weeks to get here. I took em to my friends shop and as soon as he got his hands on them he shot me a look! ha ha. I didnt tell him where they came from because I wanted to see if he could tell. They are pretty heavy tires..Sweet... its always good when you can add unsprung weight right??? Treadwright guarantees 8oz or less. The first one was 11 oz and not even close to round. So I called Treadwright and they immediately sent me another tire for free. Awesome. Two tires were balanced ok, but the last one was 8 oz out and took them awhile. So im driving now and they are the loudest ATs ive ever had. Not a big deal. Next day one is low. LOsing a lb. and hour. We tried everything and couldnt find a leak. Yes we soaped, we brushed, and we dunked. Couldnt find it. Treadwright wouldn't replace it unless I could provide pictures of airbubbles. Understandable. So I put 16oz of goo in it that claimed to work really well in retreads. It was not the pressurized stuff. Had to take the valve stem out to put it in. That worked great and hasnt leaked a lb. since.....sweet... more weight in the tire. So 10,000 miles later I can say the life on these tires sucks. I will be surprised to get another 10k out of them. They are horrible in sand but that makes sense because they are skinny. Ok in light mud. Awesome on dry gravel and pavement....woopeee. ha ha.. Ok on wet roads. They are awesome on ice and snow. The ultra grip option is kind of weird. Its like crushed walnut shells mixed in to their rubber...... You can see little brown specks everywhere in the tread. Its suppose to provide extra traction for the life of the tire by always exposing new...bits??...as the tires wears. Well thats great but my tire tread looks like swiss cheese because the....bits?...have given in to good old centrifugal force and spin out before they do any good. Which has made them a little unstable in hanldling. And they are all out of balance now. So there ya go. Huge Mistake. I would only consider buying another set if I had a rockbuggy with 15" rims. But probably not. I also thought I could put the tires on my trailer but I dont think so. Good people. Great service. Not good enough for me product. Did I mention they were CHEAP!!

Ya I have retreads on my four wheels and the drive tires on my tow trucks. Last September I blew a brand new retread on my tow truck which cost me $500. Defiantly not worth it. Id stick with the regular ole tire! You'll be surprised hw cheap you can but tires for if you look!
