Ok This past weekend I was in Houston at the Raceway Park watching the ARDL races, which were pretty damn awesome, and seen a Dick Cepek trailer and decided in my inebriated state to smmmmoooothly walk over and pick the mind of the guy behind the tire stacks..... But I think when I left I had more questions than answers.... anyway this is what I have in mind for my 08 and I need some feedback from you fellows out there that has already did the trial and error.

2,600 1st question: is the offset/backspace the correct one to get or how do you figure it??
2nd Question: I also want to add the Cognito levling kit. I need to know when I put the leveling kit on if it raises the front in up higher than the rear end, giving it a wedge look? or will i have to add some blocks to the rear axle to actually level the thing back out??
I am not looking for a skyscraper truck just want some meat on the ground under me. Any feedback will be much appreciated!!

Reason: Changed typo in title.
The leveling kit will allow the front end to be level with the rear without touching the rear suspension at all; and without the "California lean". I have heard of people installing blocks at the same time, but I assume they were trying to fit big tires. If you search, I think there have been some recent posts of before/after pics of leveling kits
I can't help with the backspacing question, but there are plenty of tire gurus on here that will chime in
Thank you sir. That makes me feel a lot better knowing it won't have that ... as you called it "California Lean".

I'm still unclear how to figure the offset/backspacing thing is measured and the guy at the local Americas Tire was going to explain it, but I sidetracked him with more questions and before I knew it, I was out of the store.
I've also seen a few links around here to explain it, but the gist of it is, that you should go with a positive offset rim which works out to be around a 5"+ backspacing. The rims I'm looking at for instance are +18mm. The reason is the closer you are to 0 or negative offset, the more the tire/rim combo is going to stick out from stock position. The stock offset is +25mm with I think a 5.75inch backspace. I think you can probably figure out the math from there

i would stay with a +12-+18offset instead of the - offset like he suggested,if not you will have fitment issues with the 33's..thats my experience with'em.

My Mods Thanks to Chad Hall @ Alligator Performance:

with the leveling kit you can clear 33's if you keep the offset positive,it will tuck the tires under the truck but not change the apperence that much vs them sticking out with the negative offset..
WFO LBZ,
unless you go with Forged wheels thats about as strong as it gets.
