Wheel offset

I'm just looking for some info on how the back spacing on a wheel can determin weather a certain tire will fit or not. I orderd some KMC monster wheels and they sent the wrong size wheel and now the tire will not fit it rubbs the fender now they have orderd the right wheel but i dont understand how this will make a differance

What was the offset on the wrong set compared to the new set. If there is a diff it will place the tire farther out from the truck. Then it might not rub.

if its a bigger tire and its too far in it will rub, if the offset sets the tire out a bit further that will make for better clearance.

Fill out your signature. What kind of truck do you have?
Is it leveled, or lifted?

You might be going the wrong way.... the stock wheels are positive off-set. You're taking them to the other extreme.
Don't know for sure until you tell us more.

To answer your question simply, YES offset will impact the fit significantly.

Dude...I need to know the complete tire size.
A 285/70R20 is a completely different beast from a 285/55R20.

Thanks.
