What the smallest front tire you can run?

Lot's of info on here if you are looking for the largest wheel and tire combo but not much on the smallest.

I building a drag only truck (no street use) and I'm looking for the smallest street legal tire I can use on the front of an 04 chevy. I may need the DOT thing for certain class restrictions not to drive it on the street.

Has any one done this?

You can get as small of a tire as you want. Like a 225/50/16 is the tire thats on a grand-am. Wont be load range E but its small

on our drag cars we build. we always run a 4in wide wheel. and a vw tire... fits it perfect..... and we havnt had any problems... just dont take corners at 80mph

Who needs corners? Hmmm..a 4" wide 8 lug wheel, the search is on.

by the way you can also get some stock wheels and send them off and have them make them skinny......... we do that all the time if we cant find a wheel......... we do it to the ol rally's
