I wanted to put 285s on my 06 2500 4 x4 but have seen the damage pics and am now thinking of 265s. Here's my question:
If I go 265s, can I go with the A/T tread (which I believe is about 1" wider than the H/T tread) without trimming? The tire I am looking at is the Yokahama Geolander.
granted a duramax is a lot different then a trailblazer but i don't like the geolanders on wife's trailblazer at all. The sidewall is a little soft for my liking. Feels like there is to much roll side to side

I forgot what we were talking bout..... staring at gunmetals avatar! IMO get a Michelin 265 LTX MS they will last forever, ride awesome, and are quiet. 265s clear on my truck and it dropped ~1" in the front. Ur good to go. Any larger you will start sacrificing fuel economy.

Rock it till it sounds expensive!
Dont argue with a moron in public....Others may be confused on whos who.
I would also advise staying away from the yuckahama's. Buddy had a set of 265's on his truck and they lasted all of about 30k miles. If you put 285's on stock rims, they should fit no problem. Some aftermarket rims with 285's can cause some rubbing, but it depends on the backspacing.
I'd recommend Bridgestone/Firestone as well as Michelins. Never had good luck with Goodforayear either. (Even though I should support them since they have plants here in Lincoln lol)
265 A/T's will be fine. Yoko's are crappy tires made by the Chinese. Buy American!!!! Mastercraft, Cooper, Goodyear
Those should be your only tire choices.
