Larger tires increase miles on truck not on odometer? not mpg

If I run 285's instead of the stock 245's will the odometer be off? Am I really putting on more miles on the truck than is actually showing on the odometer? In theory, it would seem that I am, right?

I just went from 265 to 285 my mph is about 2 faster then the speedo. This is going off a gps unit. My milage is the same. 1 mile on odometer is 1 mile on gps. This is just from watching my garmin gps.

With a tuner you can USUALLY adjust speedo for larger tires.

I am assuming that will correct the odometer from being 'off'

My milage dropped about 2 mpg this tank so far. I have only have them for about a hundred miles. And that is going off the DIC compared to what I usally get on the DIC. Hopefully it gets better.

if you are running bigger tires you will be putting less miles on your truck.

Larger tires will cause your speedo to be off...Since they are larger in circumference, it takes less revolutions to travel the same distance.All this can be corrected by most programmers/tuners. Larger tires also weigh more than smaller tires and consequently effect mileage.(for the worse).
