short but wide tire???

hello everyone , first off this is a wounderful website with a lot of real talent here and a huge help with me and my truck ,

my next project for my truck is now going to be wheels and tires currently its an 03 crew cab lb7 with a few minor upgrades such as 4'' turbo back exhaust and the edge juice with attitude the truck sit stock but im only wanting to buy a leveling kit on and im looking to stay with a smaller rims, i mean that i like the 20'' wheels and all but its to flashy for my taste im looking to get the widest possible tire but (i know that i must stay under 33'')to fit under my truck on say a 16-18'' wheel, looking for a mudterrian or all terrain tire truck 90% highway and some offroading looking to see what you guys are running and had succes with and even if somebody is selling a set i may be intersted that you all for your time and have a great day

Most people fit 285/75-16 tire(33") with a leveling kit but a 305/70-16 is slightly shorter and wider and is a common size so it should be on the cheaper side

I ran both on my Dodge and really liked the looks of the 305

I'm looking to do the same. I have 20's now, but want to go to a wide stance for awhile, maybe even a basic wide black steel wheel. Nothing ridiculas wide. So are we looking for a 10" or 12" wheel????

im runnin 17s with 285/70/17 bfg all terrains and the tires are great but i just raised the torsion bars and had to trim a tad off the inner fender welll but sounds like a leveling kit will clear it better. as far as wheel width your stock wheels should be able to fit 285s but there just 8" stock so i would assume ud have to get 10" to run 305 but not positive on this. also you could prob put wheel spacers if you wanted a wide stance? idk how wide you want but welcome and goodluck!

I had 35"x12.5" on the last truck, but do not want to go with a lift again, so maybe 31"x12.5". Does that seem excessively wide?

I was thinking that, I was going off Pro-comps site, and they also offer 31"x10.5" so I would like to see a picture of a dmax with that set up

After some searching, I think you are spot on with the 305 set up, thanks
