Winter tires or agressive all seasons?

i am in need of some opinions. it is time for new tires for my truck, but we are heading into the winter season. the truck does see a fair bit off offroad and snow conditions in the mountains but is also used on highways and will see icy sections aswell. some shops have said that i am better off getting a deep lug all season. my main concern is how well winter tires are in the deeper snow, or how the aggressive all seasons work on ice. also any of you out there running a larger around 35" mud tire in the snow and ice on the highways, or do they just turn in to toboggans

I have ran oversized tires for over 3 years in mine, first was a 33" bfg all terrain, worked pretty good but not as good as my 35" mickey thompson MTZs, they did AWESOME in the snow the last 2 years, this year will be my new 35" Toyo open country M/Ts and im sure they will do great.

I've had great luck with the Bridgestone Revo. Handles great in snow, and is quiet on the highway. They've lasted me a long time too.

I don't think they make them in 35's though.
