Hey Gang new to this site but not new to modding trucks. I want to upgrade my wheel and tire combo on my truck but I do not want to play the trimming game especially on the rockers.
I have a set of akuza 20" eight bolts with a 265 tire from my 2007 classic I tried to mount on my new girl and they hit the rockers hard. Tried to move the torsions up a bit but found the drivers side nearly maxed out on the bolt from the factory already! So I have very little moving room.
I also have a damn 09 that came with traction control and stabilitrac and I know what happens from lifting my 07 NNBS 1500 it screws up the computer and it puts the abs on when taking a corner when you upsize the tire to much.
I basically have one of the last 09s produced but its acutally a 10 on the ownership. It hasn't changed over to the new power train yet which is a good thing.
The most I think I can go witout running into the stabilitrac problem is the cognito UCA kit, I was thinking if I can get 2.5 out of that and maybe do a 1.5" body lift I can clear some decent rubber.
I want to do ZERo trimming on the rockers my last truck I had to take the body saw to her and I do not want to do that again. I plan to keep this one for a longer time and do not want to risk the rusting in the canadian winters.
Can you guys with experience post your ride be it stock ride height with your rim and tire combo or with UCA's and your rim and tire combo.
I want to choose something that has already been done so that I can avoid the headache and dissappointment when I bolt a combo up and it hits the rockers hard!
