Hey Guys I Bought A Brand New Set Of 18/9 Rockstars, With 305/60/18 Bfg Km2s. I Have The Place Were I Got Them Balnce Them Twice Now And They Still Have A Pretty Good Wobble At Like 45 And 65. They Are Using Stick On Wights And The Machine They Are Using Is A Fairly New Hunter Machine. Has Anyone Ever Had A Problem Like This . The Second Time They Balanced Them Today They Were All Off And I Watched Him Balance Them To 0 Just Like He Did Before. They Only Have Like 200 Miles On Them.

Most of the time the tire is what makes it go out of balance. Did they try rotating the tires? Do you feel it in the steering wheel or in the seat? There are 2 different ways to balance a tire. One way balances the tire for it being ovaled in shape the other way balances the tire for it being moving side to side. Usually the side to side one helps the most. I balance tire but I dont use sticky weights. I think they balance it for being ovaled out. The only way to balance it side to side is to put weights on the inside and outside of the wheel.
The only thing Id recommend would be there is a bag of powder they can put in a tire (usually is for larger truck tires though) you might want to ask them to try that.
You could very well of had a defective tire. If that cant help it you might want to talk to the tire place about getting another set of the same tires or a different tire.

There could be another problem. We just had a car come into the shop that we put new wheels on. The customer had it for a week said it felt like one of the tire was falling off. So we put the car up in the air and he was right! The wheel was falling off then when we took it off 3 of the 5 studs broke and another one was stripped. One of out more experianced techs did it so it definatly didnt leave loose. We started to check the other wheels and had 2-3 studs on each corner break. Here when the rim went on you had to align the wheel on the studs. If you just put the tire on and put the lugs on with a impact gun the wheel went on offset like it fell down on the studd instead of centering the stud.
You could try taking the wheel off then put 2 lug nuts on and make sure the wheel goes on straight. Also try rotating them. If you feel it in the wheel the front or front left tire could be out. It migth straighten itself out if you put it in the front. Id do the 2 lug nuts to all of them if you had a problem with studs breaking.

i think what he is saying is put 2 nuts on at a time across from each other to make sure the wheel centers properly on the hub..
rotate the tires and see if the vibration changes any,if it does you have a out of round tire..the Hunter Balancers are some of the best balancers avalible and thats what we use.

I just ordered from them. I like the look of the ceramic beads in place of the powders. I have not got them installed yet but the stuff on the site looks good. They are real friendly and informative. I did have a slight order problem and they are sending me the correct stuff and a call cat to send the stuff back. I pay no shipping to correct it (nice customer service). A local cycle shop has put them in 2 bikes and has not received any feedback on them yet. I told him if they did not work he would have herd about it by now.

one more thing that I have experinced in the past along with what they have said, I have had times where a lot of water got into the tire during inflation and would not let the tire balance properly, if that shop has not drained the air compressor lately this can happen...
One thing I would have them try if they dont have it find somone who does . Have them "Roadforce" the tires its a machine that hunter sells. It goes back to the "you can balance an egg but you cant make it round" bit. What the will do is see how much force it takes to collapse sidewall, rim run-out, and so forth the it will match up lets say RF wheel with LR tire and also tell them where to index it to. We had one of these at the last Chev dealer I was at and it is awesome. Spendy though expext about $200 bucks or so to balance.
Make sure the little red or yellow dot that is on the sidewall is matched up to the valve stem. I don't remember what color BFG's are. That little dot is there for a reason. I have no idea what the reason is but I have fought wheels for an hour only to realize I forgot to line the dot up. And having them road force balanced is the best way to get them right. We tend to not use road force on big tires here because the nobbys on the big tires beat the machine up a lot. But if we can't get it right the old way we will do it.
