I have an 02' 2500HD 4x4 that I would like to buy some 19.5s for. There are some Rickson wheels for 99-03 Ford SWR available used in my area. From the Rickson website, it looks like the offset difference between the GM and the Ford wheels is about 1". It looks like the Ford wheels be located about 1" outside the GM wheels. Does anyone have an opinion on if this is a bad deal. It seems like less than an inch isn't much but I don't know what kind of effect it might have on handling or component wear. I would like to save the money on used Ricksons but I don't want to cause problems that would erase any savings. Thanks for your input.
Hmmm I can see what you mean on it erasing your savings. I doubt it would hurt your truck with the bigger offset. But, Id be worrying about it rubbing. Its kinda rare for people to put 19.5's on theses truck so it might be hard to get a definat answer. Id either call a rickson dealer and get there opinion or your best bet is to try to ask the guy with the wheels if you could put one of his wheels on your truck to check for rubbing.

thanks tow master. I don't think the used Ricksons are going to work since they are 265 70 19.5s. I didn't realize how huge those tires were until I looked at some of the pictures of owner vehicles on the Rickson site. I do need new tires though and I see that you have the Nitto Tera Grapplers. I was considering these as replacements for my current Michelin AT2s load range E. How do you like the Nittos? I really liked the Michelins but thought I might try something else.

19.5 rims are usually used on larger 2 ton or so flatbed and dumb box trucks. the tires for them can hold a crap load but fitting is going to be the hard part

Ya the 265's would be to big for you. You need a 225/70/19.5 which would be comparable to a 265/75/16. Although they would last alot longer!
I really like my Nitto's so far. They seem to wear well, good traction and no noise for how aggeressive they are! But your Michelins might have you spoiled. IMO michelins last forever!!
