I'm new here and need some help. I recently had a 2" lift and18" rims with 33" ProComp tires installed on my 05 2500HD. There was a little rubbing soon after, so I trimmed a little of the plastic off. That seemed to work until now(3 months later). It started rubbing again on the plastic and also the sway bar, but only on the drives side during sharp lefts. Is there a way to add more lift to fix the rubbing without removing the 2" lift? Can I have the 2" modified to a 4" or is it a completely different kit. Can I maybe crank up the torsion bars to cure this? I would bring it back to the original shop who obviously didn't check the clearance properly, but my work takes me all over western canada, so I'm no where near there.
do you know what the back spacing on those wheels?

As it turns out, they installed a levelling kit and not a lift..not what I paid for..anyway, not the first time I was poked by a well know tire store..probably not the last (maybe this site will help build my defence with knowledge). In the meantime, i'll be a dumb-ass and admit I don't really know what the actual difference is in overall front lift is between the two. I was told to install 1/4" spacers to stop the rubbing, does that make any sense? I think the off-set is 12, but I'm not 100% sure. Also, (probably also a dumb-ass question)...can I install a lift kit after a levelling kit was installed, or do I remove the levelling kit first? I appologize in advance if my info or questions seem like I couldn't color inside the lines with a 4 foot coloring book, but I just don't have much experience in this area.
The shop really didnt do anythign wrong. With a IFS truck there are very few things you can do to lift the truck without spending big money! a leveling kit replaces the keys that the torsion bars go into then that raise the front. For even a four inch lift kit your looking a $1500 for the kit plus instalation! A actual lift kit lowers the front lower control arms to give you a lift plus lifting the rear with blocks or add-a-leafs. You can try cranking up the bars and getting the truck realigned.. However with a leveling kit your truck is actually level. If you raise the bars then youll have to raise the back as well or it will look like its doinf a weelie!
That is real weird that it "suddenly" started to rub. Are your tires low on air? I had to trim my valance and inner fender a good bit to clear my 285's after I raised the bars.
