Not a whole lot with the 285's. Just some of the bottom of the plastic on the front bumper and the inner fender liner. And probably ziptieing back the parking brake cable on the backside of the driver front tire.

To trim the bumper, just take a sawzaw and trim about 2" off the bottom corner, then check it, that is all I trimmed off of mine and I am running 285-75/16's BFG AT KO's
but I also have stock rims...
BTW, aggar, how hard was it for your buddy to fix your flairs like that? have you had any problems? Please pm mwith the answer so we don't get in trouble for hijacking this thread...thanks, chris
I am not the best in the world about cleaning my truck/wheels so I thought the Hummer Chrome Wheels since they are clear coated might be a good choice for me. However I can't for the life of me find any pics of a 2008 LMM with them on it. I am planning to put at least install a leveling kit and get 285's or 305's on it. If anyone has any ideas for a slob who hates to clean wheels please chime in. By the way this is a great site with lots of info.
265s with no triming, 285 require a bit of triming or cranking of the bars, 305's and 315's are kinda tough but it can be done with enough modifications!!!
+1 to this...i have 35's on mine with leveling, some trimming and minor fender persuasion. a good tire size if you want height is the 285/75/17 (34x11.5x17) or a 295/70/17 (33.4x12x17) from toyo, mt or at.
