Unhappy Need advice.. EFI live gone bad ecm

hello i have a "stock" 04 lb7 that i try to take really good care of because this thing makes me money ( tows everyday)

anyway i had a diablo tuner and never really liked it so i finally bought efi live,

& NO IM TUNING TO DO BURNOUTS AND RACE JUST BETTER MILEAGE AND LITTLE POWER FOR TOWING

when i attempted install, long story short i erased my ecm and then upload failed

now my truck wont start and cant reprogram to stock

error $0281

called ppei proformance and they said take it to dealer and see if they can talk to the ecm "reflash"

if they cant i need a new ecm, should i buy one from dealer ($2020.73)
or ebay ($425.00) lifetime warranty? Chevy Silverado GMC Sierra 6 6L Duramax Diesel Engine Computer ECU ECM PCM LB7 | eBay

should i still put efi live on the truck?

i am having it towed to dealer to see if they can reflash right now

little upset as this was not something i read or was told before i ordered efi live

will update

You should, it's fun. That said I think finding an ECM local will be easier and much cheaper than you think. I just looked on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and found 15 within 50 miles of me for $350 and under, some for $270, etc.

Yes, you should still put EFI Live on the truck just do it while you're still at the dealer so they can flash you again if the ECM fails the flash again. Then you can drive to get another ECM and flash it instead.

Doesn't efi live program the ecm. Shouldn't that take care of the problem. No expert here but seems that efi live will be doing same as dealer
