Fried FICM

I can’t find a bad wire anywhere from my FICM all the way back to the mid-engine harness connectors, fuse box, or ECM. I’m haven’t blown any fuses either. My truck just quit running once after fueling and started right back up. Went a mile then crapped out again. Then two days later after chasing wires to no avail it started again once more. I have a U0105 code. I took the FICM to a repair guy who said “the board is fried”. I’d like to know from any other gurus here if I need to continue searching for a definitive bad wire before I sink another grand into a new FICM or if these sometimes fail in this manner and I just roll the dice that my wire investigation was correct and I’m in the clear.

Well when my FICM went it did the same thing. Truck had 240k or 250K when it went. No warning, just left me dead on the side of the road. I got a brand new one from @[email protected]. Fair price good quality, fast shipping. To be honest most all of my replacement parts are from LDS. All good since.

Mine on the 01 just went out one day when I changed the fuel filter no rhyme or reason to it, checked everything with the fuel system thinking it had to be fuel related as it happened at the very same time that I performed the fuel filter change. Spent a month or so working on it, should of payed attention to the lost comm. to the FICM code it would've saved me a lot of time and headache. I would search on ebay or somewhere and price them, I got a used one from ebay for $200 and ended my problem.

Thanks guys. This at least gives me some relief. I’ve got 248k miles on it now. Guess I feel better taking the gamble and getting a new one. Thanks again.
