Thank you for the offer, but I'm not located in California, far from it in the northern midwest. One option I may just implement to make everyone's life easier for new support items is a setting that allows you to email me the app's logs after your done. I'd get a very detailed level of logging with the ELM device, and would be similar to how I debug in person on my own vehicles.

I expect this change will cause a notification about new permissions required, mainly wifi and/or data usage to send the email, but possibly also file access to get the logs. I like being transparent about why some permission requirements exist, so this is just an fyi.

I will update with another post when it is ready, probably a week or two.

Sounds like a good idea Shibby. I'll stand by for now...

New version pushed to the Play store. Should update soon for anyone that already has the app installed.

This version has a setting "Send logs to developer". It defaults to off, and will only send me mostly anonymous log data associated with the app itself and interactions with the car. I say mostly because this change will collect your VIN number in the byte encoded format. I have no interest in decoding it manually, but since the app displays vehicle info on first connection, it will inevitably collect your VIN. If you do not want this, leave the new setting turned off. New permission for the app was added to use the internet (to send the logs, of course).

Here is a view of the logs you'll be sending me. Things I'll know are which android version you're using, and the unique android ID (this ID is not tied to anything except the physical phone itself, no accounts or other apps). The unique ID allows me to differentiate what devices sent me what logs and piece them together since they are sent in batches of 500 at a time.

Glad to share my data with you. I've updated and signed up for being a beta tester - sounds like I already am!

Thanks again for your efforts.

I tried OBD doctor and it does not show demand for fuel or injector balance rates. The trial version did indicate that if the $ version were activated that it would plot the fuel pressure but we already have that with link, so there's no reason to try it. I did send them an email asking about demand and injector balance but I'm not optimistic.

I'll save others, I read the support for Toad Pro which is touted as what the pro mechanics use. Well notice the following.

Manufacturers/Vehicles NOT Supported: Chevrolet (Chevy), Dodge / Ram, GMC, Jeep, Land Rover, Tesla
I guess it only supports Ford

Chevrolet not supported. I suppose pro mechanics will have to get something else.

I took a quick look at TOAD's website, I have to say I'm not impressed nor does their marketing make sense. I'm sure it has it's uses, but I would not give money to a company with that bad of marketing. Their "amazon reviews" on their website are no where to be found on their actual amazon product page, where they have two one-star reviews (out of 4 total).
