My white 2007 LBZ 3500 SRW CCLB that is all stock (minus wheels and CAI) with @340k probably could be had for half that...

*edit* I would hate myself while searching for a replacement.....

It's because of the nicholas cage style treasure hunt in the lbzs. Their is actually a stash of missing us mint treasury bonds and unmarked Bill's along with map to the treasure buried on oak island. Legend also has it that if you rub the fender and hood in opposite directions at the same time as licking your ear a genie will appear and grant you wishes

I wish I would of kept my old LBZ... I miss it. No emissions, ran twins and triples on it during the 7 years I owned it, and never had a single major issue. Was a great truck! Plus if EPA ever cracked down, hollow out the CAT and done. My LMM runs great too, but the DPF is obviously gone.

Most LB7s around here go for 6500-8500, LLYs for 9000-13000 and the LBZ guys are just on some strong stuff, no none of us are going to buy your 220k miles LBZ for 25grand. I get they’re some of the best obs Duramax engines but they are not worth anywhere near where everyone wants to sell them. Still have to allow for things to go wrong with cash set aside but if you buy a LBZ be prepared to empty your pockets or buy a junker 6.5

i think its pretty dependent on area also. im in California and anything from 03 to 07c (duramax) is just about the same price +/-. SOME guys ask a premium for the lbz but its not nearly as spread out as that. i wont lie...im one of those idiots that paid 22k for a lbz just last month. but its got 50k miles not 220k

LOL at this thread.
My OEM, unmolested and totally maintained '06 GMC 2500 Extended Cab SLT Classic 4x4 now has 58k miles.
New Michelins, every bit of kit is current. Covered and on the Battery Tender when not being used as a real truck.
You'll have to pry it from my cold dead a$$.
I would not consider selling it until then.

People that don't have one....say the same thing. marx

Taller bed side rails...don't fit the standard in place for the last 40 years in pulling either a GN or 5er trailer,
Right rear door and/or seat rattles,
Stupid wheel offsets for a stock tire size made by only two companies,
Non side mount battery terminals,
Seat comfort leaves a lot to be desired,
Less useful rear seat fold down positions,

....just a few things that you DON'T get with an LBZ...and you don't have to cut things off and find a tuner that hasn't been raped by the EPA yet.

Alright So all those things you just mentioned have nothing to do with the mechanical makeup of the truck. So you did a very poor job of converting me. And oh yeah my seats are super comfy 😂

lmm, also are epa in every last piece of sheet metal, every last dash panel, every thing, is cheaper.
the door-skins are thinner, the fabric is cheaper, the plastic on every piece is softer cheaper grade.
the frame is carried over, the engine is roughly the same. the back window is the same part number.
but not at all the same truck. they had to make some epa mandate while running out of money while killing their oldest brands off to appease the government
'the dpf' is not the differenct in these trucks. everything is.

A 2006 LLY is an LBZ that's been detuned. Thats the only difference between 06 an 07+ LBZs.

That said, my 05 LLY was a great truck. Given a choice I'd go LBZ, but nothing wrong with an 05 if you find one for a good price

if you want a crew cab 4x4 just go ahead and find the nicest one you can find and spend the money. took me two years to find mine after looking at more than a dozen trucks and countless hours online scouring sale threads and auto trader, which ended up finding it for me. some old guy traded it in on a new dodge and i was at the dealership pestering them two hours after they posted it, they hadn't even detailed it yet, and i didn't let them lol. 114k when i got it, paid 24k, don't regret it at all. i wouldn't want to depend on it for a daily driver due to the cost and time involved in repairing it that can and will happen with a diesel truck when your driving it... even if you have to replace the entire engine it would still be cheaper than a L5p and you could build it the way you want. if your looking for the best deals on lbz trucks, at least in the south east, 2wd, extended cab, and single cab trucks are going to be the cheapest ones.

its not about holding value, its about not having urea and a DPF from the factory, which makes them, in theory, "deleted" but legal to drive on the street since they were built before the EPA regulations. Your paying for the VIN number more then anything else.
