DEF tank

I'm new to diesels so bare with me but I have a 2012 Silverado and on my screen it shows emissions fluid level ok but I ask the local dealership where the tank was at so I can fill it as needed he told me it's under the hood and proceeded to show me but there is no tank fill there so is it supposed to have a DEF system or does this mean it's been deleted

The filler neck is under the hood. The actual tank is mounted to the frame under the passenger side door.
