I got the DEF fluid bad quality message and it turned out to be a NoX sensor.

I have found on the bigger stuff I work on, it is a good idea to drain the DEF tank from time to time. Also, a DEF tester is a good thing to have. Just like an antifreeze tester.

Antifreeze tester tests for freezing/boiling temps. I haven't seen a DEF tester - what is it testing for?

The ones that I've seen pics of were refractometers.

We have the napa one. 1 or 3 balls floating past the line is bad. 2 balls is good. Pretty simple.

I know this is probably old new but I always try to run my DEF down low as I can just to ensure that what is in my DEF tank gets used up before I put in the new product. I know a guy that bought a semi that sat for a while bank repo and he got it was checking it over and the whole inside of the DEF tank was a solid white crystal so that’s when I started to run my DEF down low as I can just to ensure the older stuff gets used up have 136,000km now and not one issue”knock on wood” ✊🏻😊
