Question Blue DEF elimination/delete

We are looking for a good tuner/programmer device that can delete the DEF system. We would like to keep the original/stock exhaust system with emmission control. Only the DEF system should be deactivated. Does anybody know an address in Arizona/Utah/Nevada where we can get this done or a system/tune (brand) that works well? Thanks for your help!

Has this actually be done and still have regens being completed successfully to keep the DPF emptied?

DEF is burned to achieve the regen. So dont think that its possible. They don't have a 9th injector like previous years. So delete all of the DPF system or none.

No.
DEF is not 'burned for regen'.

Regen process uses diesel, pumped thru the 9th injector, to heat the exhaust to achieve cleaning soot from the DPF

DEF is injected, by a def injector, whenever the truck is running.
It is used in a chemical process, to eliminate/reduce the NOx emissions.

LML ('11-'16) and L5P ('17+ ) have both a def injector and 9th diesel injector.
LMM ('07.5 - '10) did not use DEF (NOx allowable was higher) and instead of the 9th injector, the injected extra fuel during the exhaust stroke to make the extra heat when regen was required.
J83, eli_harper13 and Twenty4Pack like this.

Guess I shouldn't comment on things I don't understand. That makes sense now thanks for correcting me.

a single EFI live tune would delete the truck and you could leave everything on it except the DEF. as far as i know there is not a tuner out there that can partially disable the emissions.

My buddy had a thought that maybe in the future could work?

What if there was dummy sensors plugged in to replace factory sensors that could be report expected values so the truck would not know any different?

you would just be replacing one expensive, problem prone and highly complex system, with a highly complex system that is virtually untested. Deleting the truck is a less complicated solution to achieve the same results. Why do you want the truck to regen anyway? You wont pass testing with the DEF disabled anyway so im not sure i understand the point.
