hey guys, I just have a few questions for those of you who have deleted your 2015's. My father inlaw and myself are both coming from H&S deleted 2012's which ran amazing.... only ran the 50HP tunes. no need for extra HP. Just simply deleting for reliability and the ability to idle in our lovely winters up here. Plus our mileage is complete garbage on these 2015s
Iam new with EFI live products and don't really know a lot about them however we are to the point where we want to delete. How do these EFI live setups work exactly? are they like a typical hand held that you plug into the OBD2? also I presume a set of A-pillar gauges would be on the list too as theirs no digital displays like H&S? Again we'd be more than happy with stock HP numbers and a little bit better mileage, just want to get rid of this emissions crap again, we were too spoiled with our 2012s
Look under the forum tab and go down to synthetic motorsports under "vendor" section. Hit up willy, erick, and travis. Very knowledgeable and can price a kit for you. Get a price for a efi live Autocal that plugs in just like you referenced. You need the EGR delete plates and an exhaust kit. 4in for a little aggressiveness, or 5 in for a louder sound. A lift pump is needed for higher tunes but not necessary for the 30 or 60hp tune. The EDGE insite is what you want to monitor the truck. You will love the difference
Don't have a 2015 but would suggest an autocal (EFI Live) from a reputable tuner such as Kory (PPEI). From what I've read their delete tunes are awesome for a 2015 and will be who I go with when my 15 arrives. As far as gauges I would suggest the edge cts insight. They work great and can view all kinds of things and I prefer this over analog gauges. Hope I could help and Happy Shopping!!!
I remember you posted about this a while back. Mine is killing me too. Ironically though, with the cold temps, the regens are back up to almost 700 km.
thanks for the replies fellas. SO basically our best bet would be an edge insight for monitoring, and then the autocal EFI live from Kory. Definatly just looking for a basic setup plug and play, just a little trigger shy with possibly switching to EFI as far as reliability goes, H&S treated us so well never a single hiccup, however I know from many posts on here that Kory's EFI tunes are some of the safest/bullet proof out there for the duramax
I deleted my previous 15 the day after I bought it with 250 miles on it. Mbrp down pipe, FLO-pro 4", fass 150, and kory Willis 200 tune. I absolutely loved it. I put 15k miles on it in the 3 months I owned it and not a single hiccup. I ran into my problems when I went to put it back to stock. All of which were simple easy fixes. I recommend his tubing to any and everyone. Their customer service is outstanding as well. I'm deleting my new 15.5 this next weekend with tuning again and will lyk if something changes or any problems occur.
(Edit) and yes I would recommend the insight as well. I ran mine to display the expandable pyro to monitor egt's pre turbo, fuel rail pressure, boost, and tc lockup. Very helpful!
I just ordered my Autocal with Kory's tunes from Willie at Synthetic Motorsports. Him and Travis were both very helpful. That would be my recommendation.
I deleted my 15 in August at about 900 miles. Night and day difference. Got EFILive and a 5 in flo-pro through Erick(Konahoss) at Synthetic. I like it waaaaay better than my deleted 08 that had a Quadzilla Stelath II. The power is nice and smooth and barely any smoke. Highly recommended. Slowly building the truck cuz I'm married with kids now but gauges and lift pump are on the to-do list.
Had a chance to chat with a new diesel performance guy with a great rep here locally. He has been deleting with Korys autocal since 2012 with great success for both those looking for high HP or simply the ability to delete and get some mpg back. I have the truck booked into my dealer to see if theirs anythig actually wrong that's causing this horrible mileage.... I basically told him if you don't find anything all that emissions crap is as good as gone. Our diesel perforamnce guy is pricing out korys autocal, edge insight with egt probe, and 4" flo pro. Well be running the lowest tune. Long story short I really doubt our dealer is going to find that magical mileage switch when they scan it, best part is my wife said we may as well delete the truck and start enjoying it like we did our old Denali !
Any problems with the pp4 pump with these setups? Rode in a 12 and 15 done with a fleece kit and it was amazing. Efi live is pretty amazing and very little smoke with a great tune. Seems they are concerned with the stock pump and will be switching to the pp3 pumps. I am a huge fan of my warranty and know the risks of deleting and going this direction, but do guys like you guys and me need to be worried about the fuel issues if we are just after mileage and exhaust with a low hp tune?
Ill give you what I have for a compairison.... Father inlaw owns a heavy equipment earth moving business, can be -60 to +40 weather variance. When we deleted we went with the lowest tune H&S had which I believe was the 50HP tow tune. He uses his trucks for work, and they work hard tons of idle time in the winter he dosent shut them off all day, pulling 36ft goosenecks loaded to the tits, driving rough roads. He tromps on it every now and again but isn't a break light burn out drama queen. He has yet to have any issues with 4 deleted 2012 LML's in his company.
For myself even at 27 yrs old I drive like a grandpa, 110km/h on the highway, I don't race anyone, I get on it every now and again, and had my deleted 2012 for 60,000KM without a hiccup. My wife and I pull a 34ft fifth wheel w/ 20' boat on behind that
My 67 yr old father and mother whom were stranded on the side of the highway in -40 last Christmas, ALSO deleted after the dealer had to do a forced regen at 300$ given his truck is a LMM. They pull a 30ft fifth wheel with 17ft boat behind that. Too be honest the mileage my dad is able to pull out of that LMM is astonishing, blows my LMLs out of the water... his best was 26mpg unloaded, and 14mpg towing. all hand calculated because hes old school as hell.
My father inlaws dad whos 78 ALSO has a deleted LML, hes an old school diesel mechanic, and basically said to me one day while in the shop.... all this emissions crap is the worst thing you can do to a diesel engine. He said with the delete kits the truck will run stronger/cleaner/ and add many miles of life. Hard not to believe a guy with 50 years experience!
As far as the CP4 goes I think as long as you stay within its means by staying at a stock/minimal tune it should be absolutely fine.
Greatly appreciated pressure. I am in e same boat, just want some better mpg and a little more nuts when I roll into a hill and have to kick into the passing lane when towing a trailer. I have 22,000+ on my 2013 now and think that I am going to do it. I have enough go fast toys that my truck is not needed for that fix.
I cant speak for EFI live tuning as I don't have any experience with it thus far.... as I ran H&S. However I think as most tuners do they cater to both crowds... those who want the big HP numbers, and those who want straight up reliability. What I do know about EFI live though is that it IS the best tuning available for the duramax, looking forward to running it and seeing what its all about, again for us itll be lowest tune possible.
b16gsr- are you also about to delete with Korys autocal?

No I am not. I have a local guy that is going to load a tune for me. I ordered the 5" Magnaflow cat yesterday, so I am getting closer. A lift pump, gauges and tune is all I have left.
There are some great tuners out there kory is a big name, nick at duramax tuner, idaho rob at ATP is who I went with. They all do great stuff and have only heard great stuff about customer service from all. Plenty of info on here about them all.
I ordered a new DP, 5" Flo Pro w/o muffler and MBRP double rolled 6" tip and Kory's EFI Live. I can't wait to delete my 15. Just rolled over 1k miles tonight
I ordered my 4in MBRP and autocal with KW tune from Performance Fueling and installed it at a little over 5oo miles..and i am loving it.. I averaged 16.1 mpg before deleting and now I am averaging 19.4 and thats in and around town. I dont stump on it or anything like that.. I keep it on the economy tune which I think that gives me 100 extra hp.. I dont have a lift pump so I have kept it on that tune. Havent towed my trailer yet to see what I get while pulling. I do have the 3 bolt flange and had to get someone to custom/modify my exhaust. But I am loving it so far!
well the father inlaws truck finally came in today, so we phoned up our diesel performance guy and pulled the trigger on deletes for both our 2015 duallies.
decided to go with a 5" this time just to try it out, ive had 4" on my last 3 duramax's and liked it, just thought id change it up this time even though I know it wont make a difference really other than asthetics. Very excited and nervous at the same time... plan on running the lowest tune which I think is 30hp? don't need any extra power just reliability! well literally be having the trucks tuned and leaving them alone and just simply driving them cant wait.
anyone have any opinions on the 5" flo pro exhaust? ive gone with 4" on all my other duramax's and thought this time to try the 5" just for something different. I know I likely wont see any performance gains over the 4". I went with the 5 mostly for asthetics as I believe it looks more proportional on a dually since I am not going with duals this time.
I'll be honest iam not sure I've ever experienced a drone with any of my duramaxs, maybe I just don't know what to look for in regards to sound ? One was a straight pipe mbrp 4" duals on an Lb7, then. 4" duals with muff on the h&s lml. I don't ever recall noticing any annoying sounds, could barely hear anything on the 2012 from inside the cab. Nothing will beat the sound of that lb7 though
