Yes, we've heard that 40 hp claim before. Seems optimistic to me, unless the stock filter it replaced was completely plugged or the engine was substantially modified.

DPF/SCR technology summarized in three words: It doesn't work.

I'm getting ready to order a afe drop in or just a whole s&b. With how dirty my filter is I could see a 40hp gain haha. Not doubting someone, somewhere, on some dyno, didn't pick up 40, but that is a lot from an intake.

They allow more air to pass through, so I can understand a "marginal" increase. But then your allowing more dirt in too. I guess what we should be saying is if you want the best filtration and average performance, stay stock. If you want a little more air and are willing to lose filtration, go aftermarket.

I thought the Donaldson Powercore filtered better then stock with more airflow too, can anyone verify? I'm thinking a Powercore is gonna be my next filter, a 61502 should fit right on my S&B cai.

On the 15 lml I do not think it's worth it, I plan on dropping an afe or s&b dry filter in the factory box.

Filtration between the Powercore and OEM is pretty close 99.97% compared to 99.90% but the Donaldson flows around 800CFM. I'm not sure what the OEM filter flows at but AFAIK it doesn't flow anywhere near 800CFM. I got the S&B intake with the Donaldson Powercore filter on my rig.

I like the dry filters because they are easy to clean an will still give you good protection in the factory air box .
