Diesel Fuel Odor

I was under the front of my 2017 2500HD yesterday changing out the fog lights and detected a significant diesel fuel odor near the front passenger side. Any suggestions as to it's source?

Truck has about 3500 miles on it and is 11 months old. I've got an appointment at the dealership for it's first "included" oil change so it's going to go onto my list.

The fuel filter is under the truck by the rear drivers side door -- this odor is near the front bumper on the passenger side.

Mine smelled like diesel horribly during regen until after 5000 miles or so. I remember the first time it regened I had to roll all the windows down as it was burning my eyes and nose.

This truck is not my first oil burner and this smell is definitely raw diesel -- so there must be a leak somewhere -- I'm going to let the dealer get up there and look -- was just wondering if there was some common issue that other's have had so I know which way to point them.
