Recall for Engine Block Heater

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Maybe I’m
late to the game on it.

Block Heater

It's true. I got a call at 06:45 from my dealership earlier this week telling me that I should not use the block heater due to it may cause an engine bay fire. Several months ago I had the original block heater go bad and had replace. It appears mine was the first one to go bad before this recall here where I live. They are trying to solve the problem but do do do not use. GM has instructed service departments to cut cord at block. Now we wait for the repair part. The good news by the time mine was replace the weather changed and I didn't need it. So I'm good. Anyway there's my update. And if you have the Chevrolet app on your phone look at your current recall tab and you'll have what I have as well.

How can they not have a fix? Aren't they using the same block heater on the 2020s being built?

From what I have read they are not putting them in the new trucks at this time.

Havent gotten a letter for mine as of yet, but here in West Texas the odds of ever using it are pretty slim.

So does that mean they just won't ever receive one? I need mine here in Wisconsin. I hope they don't try to just issue a credit to everyone.
