2009 Chevy 2500HD Duramax. Decided I would try a tow guard again as I just bought a new fishing boat and tow two fifth wheels. Question for the great minds here is: The exhaust tip is pointed right at the passenger side flap. I believe they say you should cut away the rubber that's in the way, but that would be a significant piece (factory tip is 5" OD) and would somewhat defeat the stone catching ability of the flap. Looking for ideas/suggestions. Pure Diesel Power has a 14" right angle tip, but the length would extend past the flap. It can't be cut down as the area that mounts to the exhaust tip looks to be 5 1/8" OD and then it expands from there.
