Damn the hood came out good! Did you put the hood liner back on under the new hood? After changing my hood i kinda liked the bare metal look.
Discovered a drawback to the hood, sorta.
The increased air flow thru the bay is good for removing heat, but.....
The engine bay is trashed with dirt...and bugs. There's definitely some air flow thru there....everything's covered with dirt, a lot. I usually keep it fairly clean, but it's never been this dirty.
And, the bugs. I didn't transfer the hood liner, and the whole underside has bug carcass impacts, like you'd see on your headlights or bumper.
And it's the whole hood, left right center, front to back.
No idea what their path is to impact the underside of the hood. The chrome deflector is tight to the grille....I thought. Maybe shredded thru the tiny hair thin gap?
Or thru the grille and then up?
But once they're thru, is there enough wind action to smash 'em to death against the underside of the hood?
I have been thru weeks of Kamikaze Spring bugs, where you have to stop every hour or so and clean the windshield just to see. Didn't know they were lining the hood too.
