Hey all, some of you may remember me and my 08 lmm. It was sporting a built trans, 10mm cp3, s369sxe and a whole lot of other supporting mods. I traded it off january of 2018 for a 2018 halfton with the 6.2. That only lasted about 8 months and had to get myself back in a duramax! I picked up a fully loaded 2016 crew cab, black interior black exterior. I am finally getting enough done to the pickup that ive decided to do a build thread.
As you all know me, i cant leave anything stock. I remember taking it on my test drive putting it to the wood and thinking this it it? :rof So i instantly contacted Blake at UnleashedDurmaxTuning and got some tunes ordered up. Truck got a 5" jamo straight pipe exhaust installed along with some tunes. Drove it on a 90hp tune for about a month then the quest for more power came.
Next came a fass 165 titanium along with a deviant sump with return. Obviously with a lift pump comes a larger 150hp tune. Drove on this for a good 4 months and was happy. Never have really beat on this truck like i did the lmm. I did 2 4wd launches with it and was dam happy where it was.
Sometime in that first 4 months i got my windows and winshield tinted as well. Ended up going 15% all the way around, 50% on the whole shield with a 5% strip.
Just a couple weeks ago i finally bought a deviant epc fooler plug, new internal and external trans filters, and 12 quarts of dex 6. Installed the fooler along with new filters and fluid and bumped trans line pressure up to around 280psi constant. This mod helps the trans hold that 500-600whp depending on your driving conditions.
I then asked my tuner for a 200whp which absolutely rips, but tasking the cp4 that hard has me a bit worried. So just the other day i ordered up a SDP cp3 conversion with exergy sportsman pump from Scott over at SDP. The sportsman pump will get me much more reliability and around 650whp. Now the egr needs to get deleted fully with this conversion so i am on the quest of figuring out what parts i want to go about that.
