Bobcat 843 engine problems

Was hoping somebody could help me diagnose this problem.

Whenever I run my 843 for a little while, it slowly shuts down on me. The time varies, it may run for 30 minutes or only 5 before quitting. The problem occurs after I use it and when I throttle down close to an idle, it seems like the machine just doesn't have the power to keep running and it shuts down. Oil and filter have been changed, fuel filter has been changed, and the temp gauge reads just hotter than straight up.

Anybody have any ideas or tests I could try to get a better diagnosis of the problem?

Sounds pretty sporadic...Did u try some diesel 911 in the fuel tank? Just for shits and giggles..My 2000 773 acted like that least year of sorts and I ended up getting water in it.. No idea how because I fill up at the same pump with my truck and never had an issue. Give it a try cant hurt..

I'm thinking that there is a problem in the injection pump so i'll be attempting to pull that out within the next few days. The pump is a diesel kiki I believe... anybody know where I might find a new or used pump instead of trying to ship this around and have it rebuilt?

I'm with Coullier1 and would have checked with a bobcat repair shop to see if they had one. It would be more expensive then a used one but at least you would know it was serviceable.

Just noticed that this thread shows to be from 2015. Is this still an issue?

My RTV Kubota was having issues starting and dying after running for a few minutes. I pulled the filter and changed it, looked at the fuel cap, nothing there (replaced it). Ended up that there was a 90 in the bottom of the fuel tank that packed almost completely solid with what looked like sand. This was limiting the amount of fuel the pump could pull from the tank after it started. Took a couple of drill bits and some brake cleaner to get the elbow clean along with wiping out the tank (some kind of red goo in there) and now it starts first time and runs like a champ. I did also notice the reduced power like you mention. Might try the fuel system before yanking and replacing the pump. Fuel line and fittings are cheap (probably not that easy to replace on the bobcat) and if there is a restriction, the new pump may only mask the issue for a short time or may not fix anything.
