changing your batteries or having your batteries go dead won't change anything

I left the nut loose on the turbo line and it blew off going down the highway. After I put it back the engine is running on reduced power. Is this because the computer read something is wrong and trying to limp and is this stored in the computer. That is why I thought about clearing the computer so that it could tell the hose is connected right.
