Broke off glow plug connector

I only found one similar post and no resolution. I broke off the end of the glow plug connector. I can't tell if the glow plug wires are two wires or one. It is too hard to see close, but I just soldered on a new end. Anyone dealt with this that knows how to fix them? I think my solution will work but I don't want to try it until I have someone with knowledge to help out. Thanks. It's a 04 lly. I'll add pictures.

Should I cut the wire and splice on a new extension? I just wrapped an end over the copper crimp that was left and soldered the new crimp onto the remaining copper crimp. Should I cut the wire and splice? I just don’t know if there are two wires or if it is just one hot wire.

One stranded wire, it is energized by the GPCM and grounded thru the GP to the head.

What you did will work like a champ! Good Job!

When putting it back on use your index finger on the other hand to prevent the terminal from rotating and repeating the issue.

I know you already figured that out, but others who read this may not have. So I thought a little instruction may save some other poor soul from having this happen to them too.

I just sent you a response to your PM and then seen this post.

Your problem was similar to mine where the ring broke off, but you fixed yours the same way as I did mine. Like I said, I haven't had any problems since I fixed it like that.

As long as the solder connection is good, thats basically a shop repair right there.
