NorCal fender mod on lbz? Long term review ?

Is this mod worth cutting into my truck ? My options are to do this or spend $1100 on a lift kit for the lbz. Anyone run into rust issues after a few years ?

Spray some undercarriage coating or even just regular spray paint and you'll be fine. No issues here with mine.

I did the large fender mod on my 2008 when I had it in order to fit 285/75/17 Dura Grapplers. I just made sure to spray paint any exposed edges and rough surfaces. It held up well to many Vermont winters.
