I'm not currently having any problem. I've been looking at them for a while and can get tomorrow and I've just been trying to find out any type of problems with them. I know the old internal injectors leaked fuel if the seals went bad so that's why I wanted to know if they kept them internal. Thanks.
I have not had any problems at all with anything mechanical in nature. I've only had a problem with the top windshield seal flapping at highway speed. The dealer glued it down, and that's now gone. This has been a great truck!!
I'm currently looking at one. I talked to my mechanic, he said to look out for the following:
Trans lines leaking
Radios going out on the LT's with navi etc.
If they've been run hard you should check the oil fill for gunk on the neck.
They are slightly less powerful stock because of the re-gen tip thanks to Obama... But just get a good exhaust that deletes the dpf and you're good.
Otherwise he said they are a solid truck, enjoy!
overheading problems uphill were the LLY I thought?
My 08 has been a pleasure. I have had a couple issues along the way but nothing major; door lock (replaced under warr), leaking trans lines (I fixed it with a repair kit; easy), and a leaky third brake light gasket.
I have heard that some have trouble with a kinked fuel line collapsing and reducing power, but I replaced mine with some fuel upgrades that I did.
As for power, stock for stock it was not down on power compared to any prior stock model. Remove the EPA shart and get a good EFI Live tune in her and get ready for a perma-grin. I did a trans-go jr kit when I bought mine, and have been flogging the living hell out of the stock trans, with some way too powerful tunes... limit your beatings to 1-4th gear only and be careful during 4-5shift and during 5th and 6th gears if you are running a big tune, and the trans will last a long time. I'm over 70k and I am harsh on it
I have a 2008 Chevy 2500 dura ax diesel 6.6 - Ali's. Trans z-71 shortbed. No oil leaks, great fuel mileage pull 40 ft raptor with 3 can am atv 201,000 mi. Engine light comes on, all vitals ok . Bully dog equipt. Code has p0087. Dealership says same. They said all enjectors need changing, in order to do so they said they had to remove the cab, never heard of such a thing, anyway the estimate is 2478.79 for parts, an 7,746.00 for cab work , over $10,000. Somebody help, tell me it ain't so please!
Having a problem with my 2008 gmc 2500 hd diesel. Keeps poping po672 code but runs fine. Need to know were the #2 glow plug is. Is in 2,4,6,8 from the drivers side front to back?
I'm having a problem with my 2008 chevy duramax, it starts and runs fine then when I shut it down and leave it for a while then try to start it again it wont start unless it prime the fuel filter what could cause this?
Rear axle seal for me the day after I bought it, dealer replaced it and said it looked like it was replaced once already because the seal in there wasn't a GM seal. Also the chrome cover just fell off my driver's side mirror the other day when it rained. Not sure how it happened, must be a fluke from the sun hitting it all day and then the wind from the rain storm. I'm going to leave it off. Not a fan of all the chrome to begin with.
Other than Trans and power steering hoses leaking, mines been great! Now that I've posted this, I'm sure something will break!
