Annoying da*n serpentine belt LMM

Brand new Serp brand new tensioner no idea where the squeel is coming from .. just to see if I can pin point it I squirted a tiny bit of wd40 on the inside of the belt sound went away on idle and got way louder during acceleration.. I’ve about had it with this embarrassment belt I’m going to ghost ride the truck into the pacific

Just that sometimes squealing belts are caused by something thatís hard to turn so it slips somewhere. The wd40 just gives it a little more traction, for a short while. Could also be ps pump or ac compressor, or just a cheap belt.

Drive belt replacement involves a package of parts that wear together;
Belt, Tensioner pulley, AND both idler pulleys (3 if you have dual alternators).

Did your Tech also swap those two $17 items at the same time?
Also, look at your pulley on your alternator.
Does it have a large nut visible in the center?
Or does it have a flat disc covering the front of it?

If it's a disk, that's a clutch pulley and they can fail and leave an annoying chirp like a belt does. The Alt will test fine, but a stethoscope will reveal the source if it is the pulley clutch. As well as if it's coming from the PS pump. AC off will rule out the compressor as a source.

My LMM likes to squeak on occasion. I've changed everything together as Hook mentioned above, and I still get it. I suspect its a slightly out of alignment power steering pump pulley in my case. Might want to check that. I will be checking mine soon, in the meantime, spraying some vinylex or other rubber lube on the belt stops it for a few thousand miles.

Yup. That’s why I hate having noises belts it’s a nightmare trying to pin point it and if you can’t you just have to start replacing stuff until you find it
