1st LLY Headgasket repair

I did my first head gasket repair on an LLY unsuccessfully. Still have exhaust leaking into coolant. Tested EGR , torqued heads to factory spec by procedure with new factory bolts, had heads pressure tested and resurfaced, tested degas tank cap. After seeing deck cleaning procedure after the fact, I think that might be the issue. I cleaned deck by hand with a scuffpad instead of a block of steel wrapped with 600 grit sandpaper. Is there anything that can be done to salvage the engine if too much material was removed from the deck? I’m assuming new gaskets again, possibly try studs, check deck with straightedge. I’m not sure the next move to make this work after spending all the money. I can strip it back down but how do I get it to seal correctly. Any help would be appreciate. Thank you.
