New owner....converted LLY owner

Just bought my first Duramax. Been a different brand owner for years but recently picked up an ‘05 GMC. Hope to learn as much as I can about my pickup. Thanks for having me!

Welcome! My LLY will probably be my "forever" truck, it's pulled our heavy 5th wheel many, many miles over many, many mountain passes and coast-to-coast for over 10 years now without any issues and has never let me down. Never had to add DEF, never had a regen, never had a CP4 failure or an emissions system limp... and never made a monthly payment.... I do all my own maintenance, fluids etc. Never have to add coolant or oil between changes, everything works, even the SLT stuff..... Yeah, it kinda drives like a truck compared to the $80K new ones but it gets me there!!

I feel the same about my LLY. Its like a worn pair of Levi's that fit just right.

My LML looks better than a ol' pair of Levi's, but thats about it.

The LLY is a solid truck.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really am liking it so far. Long over due upgrade. LOL It needs a few things but it’s pretty solid. Have a coolant leak and probably a half shaft job to do, but all and all I’m ready to stick my enclosed trailer on and see how she tows!

I agree with @ALLY Cat. The LLY I hope to keep forever. I love none of the emissions bs either. It sounds amazing looks amazing and drives amazing! What else can I ask for? And I have no $500+ dollar a month payment. It’s a win in my eyes. With proper maintance and an easy right foot the truck will last. I’ve had mine many many years -and never had the engine or trans apart. Still going strong at 260K
