New to the site

It took me a while to find this site after buying a new to me 01 ECSB 4X4. I've been looking at every forum I could find that covered full sized GM Duramax vehicles and this site sure seems to cover everything AND the members look to be a very good crowd.

The truck is in pretty remarkable condition considering its age and mileage (250,000). I bought it from a neighbor who also happens to be a diesel guru and owns his own shop. I don't know what he paid for it, but he bought it to flip it. He put in a new transfer case, fly wheel, starter, upper control arm bushing and shocks. The truck is stock and the plan is to keep it that way for at least a year or so. I just need it for towing/hauling and for the price I paid, it was definitely a steal.

As for myself, I am retired Navy and originally from Colorado. After living on all three coasts, the wife and I moved back to Colorado when I retired. Now I work during the summers and have been going to school to learn welding as I bought a 72 Chevy K20 a couple of years ago as a project truck that turned out to have a bit more rust than I first realized. Rather than paying someone else to fix the cab, I figured I'd do it myself. We live up in the foothills, between the front range and the divide, at an elevation of 9100 feet.

Hope to learn about this truck as it is my first diesel. So far I am really liking the truck, though I had to get some new tires on for the snow. Came with mud tires that don't do much up here during the winter other than to make for some scary driving. Hopefully in time, I will be able to help out other members with questions, as I'm sure I'll be asking a few in the near future as soon as things warm up around here and I can start poking around the truck more. Usually starts to warm up a little in May and should be done with the snow by June. Haven't taken any pictures of the truck as of yet, but just imagine a stock, white 2001 ECSB with KO2's on it, stock size.

In the mean time, I'll be doing a lot of reading on a number of subjects and piping in now and then.
