New From Eastern oregon

I been reading a lot lately learning some as well, Have a LB7 and been getting it up to snuff. Bought it from my younger son now repairing everything he broke or failed to fix! Hope to help when I can and will ask for help when I just dont know. I retired last summer from Oregon DOC after 2 knee surgeries from a job injury I couldnt go back so just pitched in the towel and retired. I took auto mechanics, and Diesel mechanics way back in High school when they used to teach kids trades. Was in the Army for 6 yrs (infantry), more recently have been doing all types or repairs, mostly Boats, atv's, and Motorcycles. I have never forgotten my roots in cars and trucks though. Think I learn something new everyday.

You wouldn't recognize it now, a bunch of new apartments, new mall going in on the Indy-Monmouth dog leg, riverfront cement plant has been replaced by a boutique hotel and condos, most of the derelict buildings in downtown Indy have been revamped into artsy-fartsy places, housing and taxes going up... No more sleepy nostalgic little town!! Academy is gone now.

I loved the Italian restaurant by the park, good folks there back then. There son went through the academy with me, as that goes most depts started doing there own academies and Red Books to save money. They had some good instructors though, too bad the cost of it was so hard to fund. Only 4 from my class still working out of 23. That was 24 yrs ago though.
