Allison 1000 Issues

I am new to this form, but have a question regarding a problem (I believe) I might have with my transmission. When you drive it first thing in the morning or when it has sat idle for sometime there is no issue, only after the transmission warms up.

When I stop I feel a thud and when I release the brake and take off I feel a thud. If you are stopped and put the truck in either reverse or drive, no thud. If you coast to a stop, no thud. Only when you stop normal and take off. Transmission shift with no issues and the truck runs great. Both the motor and transmission mounts have just been replaced, but the thud is still there.

I've taken the truck to an individual who rebuilds Allison transmissions for a living and currently he is even baffled. He wants the truck back (after he finishes rebuilding another transmission) to drive it more and try and figure if I need a new transmission or is it a problem that doesn't require a new transmission.

Hope this thread can give me some answers to this issue. Thanks

It sounds a little like the driveshaft yoke needs lubrication problem that many people have experienced, but hard to tell without being there. The fix for this is to lube the friveshaft to transmission yoke so that it slides smoothly. Search for more answers related to this.
