Called the local GMC dealer today, went through 4 recordings and 2 girls to reach service advisor whom proceeded to harass me about not having VIN handy. I assured idiot it was on recall, had letter and my GM app says so......ok its a standoff, no VIN, no info on service appt so we try something simple....Is the part in stock? Can't tell you that without VIN. ( She was reading a script designed to seek out where I bought truck )

Fine! 4Q's and bye....

Call Chevy house...1 girl and straight to advisor, Will you work on my GMC ? YES! Do you have part for recall? No, GM is covering cold states first, you will get letter when available locally....cool! Plenty of quality info , friendly guy, willing to help , no VIN required.

Knew I should have bought a Chevy !

so io will wait for the class action suit and pile on .
I had the same refund, but hey look at the engine block and the heater is there w a cut cord... Therefore ...... its a option that was damaged by GM / dealer...

yes true but I guess mine was ( delivered ) to the dealer after the recall it has no cord at all
just the block heater ( you can see where the cord attaches)
so they say it was shipped with out the option
I am not done with them yet

GM is replacing all block heaters and cords on 17-19 L5PS whether you got 100 credit or not.

My block heater cord was cut on a service visit this past summer and I am having the replacement block heater installed tomorrow morning.

But why am I even doing this? Guess I am doing a favor to the next owner who might want one. My L5P sits outside overnight winters in Fraser CO and which town fights for the title of icebox of the nation. Never had an issue starting at -15F or worse. Would be curious to hear if anyone actually uses these things.

Checked with my local GMC dealer who informed me that there is no fix available for my truck. So I'm in the Chicagoland area, anyone around here get their heaters repaired or is Illinois not on the approved list yet? Bought my truck with it disabled from the factory.
