Yes. A single layer of 2x can't handle some of the weights I roll across it. But an additional 1" 5/4 stock over those, does handle the weight. That's a full 2.5" of deck on top of the 3" channel. Diagonal, completes the triangle strength of steel and wood and adds to the spread of weight, like blocking floor joists. Plus, it's the most economical to run. 12' lengths ran diagonal, I only have a small triangle waste cutoff on the ends. |
